Homework 5: Health and Safety

1. Using and sitting at a computer:

 – Some dangers from using and sitting at a computer include: Back pains and Eyestrain.
 – Solutions to help stay safe would be to: adjust the chair for better posture, use foot rests, take regular breaks and have suitable lighting.
 
2. Painting with bleach:
 
 – Some dangers from painting with bleach include: irritation to skin and stains clothes.
 – Solution to help stay safe would be to: wear gloves to prevent bleach getting on skin and roll up long sleeves.
 
3. Using a rotatrim to cut paper:
 
 – Some dangers from using a rotatrim to cut paper include: cutting of skin.
 – Solution to help stay safe would be to: not to place finger anywhere near the blade when cutting.
 
4. Moving around the classroom:
 
 – Some dangers from moving around the classroom include: tripping over bags, bump into a chairs.
 – Solution to help stay safe would be to: put your bag under the table, tuck your chair in to free space. 
 
5. Using a hair dryer to dry ink:
 
 – Some dangers from using a hair dryer to dry ink include: may spray on clothes, it could overheat and catch fire if left on.
 – Solution to help stay safe would be to: wear an apron, turn the hair dryer off when not using it.
 
6. Using a permanent marker:
 
 – Some dangers from using a permanent marker include: the solvents can make you high, stain clothes.
 – Solution to help stay safe would be to: don’t inhale the solvent, role up sleeves/wear an apron.
